Walnut Grove's 8:30 service actually begins by 8:15 with the Praise Band warming up. The drums, guitars, tambourine and singers get everyone's feet tapping and hearts filling with the Spirit. The upbeat music lauds our awesome Lord and Savior. Music accounts for at least 40% of this service. Children scurry to the front to sit on the floor for children's time, and then the Scripture reading is followed by the pastor's message. The 8:30 service meets in the fellowship hall, and the attire is very casual. Breakfast follows this contemporary music service every Sunday, and this provides an opportunity for fellowship. Please come and visit us. WARNING: This service is habit forming!

Walnut Grove's 11:00 service is a traditional formal one, and it is held in the church's sanctuary. The pastor covers his golf shirt with a robe and stole. The grand piano and organ are played simultaneously as hymns from the Methodist hymnal and the Cokesbury hymnal are offered to our Lord. The choir provides special music each week, and the children come down front for children's time which concludes with them having a prayer while kneeling at the altar. The sermon is the same as the 8:30 service. Greeting and welcoming each other play an important role in this service, and it concludes with everyone holding a neighbor's hand for the benediction. This warm ending and the service itself will pull you back again, week after week! You are invited to join us for this meaningful service.
