Orange Congregations In Mission (OCIM)

Walnut Grove UMC supports Orange Congregations in Mission (OCIM) through its budget as well as individual and special offerings throughout the year.

OCIM is located at 300 Millstone Drive in Hillsborough, NC, and is supported by congregations in Orange County, North Carolina.  Their mission is to minister to the urgent needs of citizens of Northern Orange County through the volunteer efforts of diverse congregations and individuals inspired by faith in God and to enhance self-sufficiency with an awareness of community resources.

Founded in May 1981, OCIM is a private non-profit ministry comprised of close to 50 congregations in northern Orange County.  As a human services organization, OCIM strives to meet the emergency needs of those who find themselves in a crisis situation.  Their ministries include: Samaritan Relief, Meals on Wheels, Thrift Shop, Interfaith Worship and Walk for Hunger.
